Fun Spring Activities

April 5, 2019

Spring is here and the weather is warming up.  With that in mind, It is time to get outside and enjoy some fun activities that can be both beneficial for your physical and mental health.  You don't even have to travel far to enjoy the outdoors and to get some much needed fresh air. If you're trying to recover from a past injury, United Rehab Physical Therapy can help you!

Here is a list of activities that you can partake in either by yourself or with a group.

  • Take up a sport - you don’t have to be a professional athlete to be able to enjoy and play a specific sport. Regularly running, joining a recreational adult league, or simply tossing a ball around with a friend can make the difference for your health. According to the American Heart Association, physical activity can help prevent the possibility of strokes or heart disease in the future.

  • Gardening - whether it’s mowing your lawn, pulling out weeds, making new flower beds, or planting your new seasonal flowers, this activity can act as a physical yet enjoyable experience!

  • Bike riding - biking is an excellent way to get in shape and stay physically fit. If you’re looking to bike ride for long distances, plan out a route that is specifically designed for your skill-set.

  • Hiking - Long Island has plenty of different trails and sites for you to see and enjoy. Aside from physically challenging you, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and warmer weather.

With the nicer weather on the horizon, why not start spring on the right foot? Whether it’s taking up a new sport or a different hobby, make this spring the best one yet! If you’ve been injured and need help to properly recover, United Rehab Physical Therapy can help you today!
